Research
The U of A is one of only a few post-secondary institutions in Canada to do a regular institution-wide employment survey of its graduates. With funding from the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), CAPS conducted the first Employment survey of University of Alberta Graduates in 1995. We decided to survey the graduating class of 1990 so that we would have some longitudinal data of graduates’ employment experience six months, three years and five years after graduation. We repeated the survey in 2000 and 2005, and intend to continue with it at five year intervals. For a copy of the report of our most recent survey, click on the link below (under Publications)
In addition to our graduate employment survey, we have surveyed employers about their recruitment and selection practices, and students about their experiences and expectations regarding summer employment.
