Guest Speaking
Overview
CAPS relies on volunteer guest speakers for the success of a wide range of career education events. You are invited to spend a few hours sharing your professional experiences and advice with a group of students. Opportunities range from discussing your personal career path to advising students about the job interview process.
Eligibility
Any U of A alumnus or community member may sign up to be a guest speaker for CAPS career education events.
How to Participate
There are three easy steps to being a guest speaker with CAPS:
1. Take some time to review the information about being a guest speaker found
here. If you have any questions, please contact Amy Roy Gratton at amy.roy[@]ualberta.ca.
2. If being a guest speaker sounds like a fit for you,
submit your information online. If you don’t already have a CAPS account, you will first register as a new user and then complete the section entitled ‘Speak with students.’ You will specify if there are particular guest speaking opportunities you prefer (see details to the left).
3. If CAPS is planning a career education event that fits with your professional or educational background, we will contact you to see if you are available and interested in participating in that particular event.
